The Domain of Baronnie de Bourgade

Baronnie de Bourgade is a wine estate in the Languedoc and is the producer of wine “Les 3 Poules”. The property is owned by an independent wine-maker and wine seller with vineyards comprising an interesting variety of grapes: Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Grenache.

You can buy Les 3 Poules wine at the property and a fantastic range of wines is available for sale:

White Vermentino, rosé Grenache, red Grenache, red blend of Merlot and Syrah -La Coquine, red Cabernet Franc and La Mère Poule - a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended in oak barrels.

The wines have received several prestigious wine awards and boosted wine sales in international wine markets.

The family-owned estate Baronnie de Bourgade covers 50 acres of vineyards that are tended by the wine-grower and owner Gilles de Latude.

Low yields and wine-making, grape variety by grape variety, temperature control, destemming techniques, and maturing in new oak barrels for some wines allow the soil and the grape variety to express all their subtlety producing some astonishing wines.

The origin of wine at Baronnie de Bourgade
Remains of a Roman pottery at Baronnie de Bourgade are signs that wine was already made here over 2,000 years ago, and the tradition continues with Gilles de Latude and his English wife Ruth Parker.

History tells us that Bourgade belonged to the Church and was sold by the state to the Latude family after the revolution. At the end of the 19th century Bourgade had over 150 hectares of vineyards, but one hundred years later, François de Latude left his son Gilles only 14 hectares. Gilles has since replanted the vineyards and today there is a total of 22 hectares of vines.
